3.2.2 Choosing the Operating System Cloud Server Pro service guide Cloud Server Smart service guide

Another important step in the configuration of your Cloud Server is the choice of operating system.
Of course the choice of operating system is fundamental to using the Cloud Server and specific competences to a given a particular OS and/or version. If you want to install a particular or specific application on your own virtual machine it is worth consulting the application provider first, to choose the operating system version most suited to the actual application.
All the possible parameters for making this choice are taken into account, just as in the case of Hypervisors, you cannot change the operating system of a virtual machine once you have created it.

Aruba Cloud Computing provides included in the price Microsoft Forefront Endpoint Protection on all Windows templates.

Microsoft Forefront Endpoint Protection in addition to being a powerful antivirus, anti-spam, and anti-malware, is also an effective centralised protection system, valid from the individual virtual machine to the entire virtual network.
Microsoft Forefront security products allow you to protect Cloud Servers, server applications, and the perimeter network, all with a very low impact on the performance of your system and network

Microsoft Forefront allows you to monitor in real-time the security status of the operating system, it also lets you configure alerts for virus activity, and check firewall downtime and record upgrade errors.
The centralised management of Microsoft Forefront offers savings as it removes the costs of purchasing and maintaining an independent security infrastructure.

By means of the Cloud Computing service you can use a custom template/OS or more simply opt for a template from those available:
