8.1 Importing and exporting a Virtual Disk Cloud Server Pro service guide

Aruba Cloud Computing gives their customers the option of being able to import and export one or more virtual disks and manage them easily by means of the Control Panel.

Importing virtual disks lets you replicate any of your local servers in our Cloud environment. You can import both simple virtual disks (at the end of the procedure you will have a disk that exactly replicates the structure and data of your local one) and primary boot disks in order to be able to use a Custom Template/OS.

After importing a virtual disk you can also create a Custom Template/OS, so you can quickly replicate the same Operating System and software configuration whenever you want.

You can only import and/or export images of virtual disks in .vmdk or .vhd format.

ATTENTION: when importing virtual disks we remind you that if you put spaces or special characters in the name of the file, the Cloud Server will not be created successfully.
The operations described are examples: the improper use or use without due care and skill, can cause the partial and total loss of data, and in some cases may jeopardize the correct operation of the virtual server. Using this guide without the appropriate skills is not recommended. Aruba S.p.A. does not accept any responsibility for any problems or damage caused by using these guides
